Editorial Design: Room Review
Room Review is a contemporary concept magazine which explores the representation of women in television and films that perform well on the Bechdel Test. To pass the test, a work is required to have two named females who speak to one another about something other than a man. The work of Virginia Woolf inspired Alison Bechdel and her friend Liz Wallace, specifically A Room of One’s Own, to create the Bechdel Test. Room Review’s name is a nod to Woolf and represents both the creation and ability to have space to tell women’s stories.
